Another 1940s baseball signature help? Phil Cavarretta

I acquired this ball today and I got one of the signatures deciphered which would put this ball in the 1940s... The others I can't make out myself.

Phil Cavarretta

Well he played until '55 so there's that. That's a rough ball. I have no idea on the others.

The second signature could be Jack Russell, but I'm far from sure of that, which would place this on the 1938 or 1939 Cubs. Struggled with the third name but couldn't decipher it. Fourth and fifth ones will likely always be a mystery.

This is for you @thisistheshow - Jim Rice was actually a pretty good player.

It definitely does look like it could be jack russell

I know the ball is rough but I only paid 9 bucks for it! Fun time trying to figure out who's on it

Third one maybe Bob Carpenter? Was on the 1947 roster with Cavarretta.

The one that was thought to be Jack Russell, actually looks like Jim Piersall to me.

That would make sense as this ball is 1950s! Thanks!! The second photo the last name looks to have a double S in it and the first name looks like it ends with an L....
