Question about ebay...

I haven't gotten a card I won 5/28. I am waiting till tomorrow (when we get our mail from the past 1 days) and if it isn't there I will call it quits on waiting. This guy doesn't respond to my IMs or my e-mails. Yet, he has a great ebay feedback. Will ebay care at all if I complain? I don't wanna go wasting $11. Thanx.

  • Eh. I hope they care. Ski gave me a palce to go.
  • Basically the hassle you are going to have to go through for $11 isn't worth it, seeing they are not a registered user anymore. Also Ebay has a $25 insurance deductable, so you aren't covered. Basically you will have to file a fraud complaint and who knows if you will ever see your $11 again anyways after you do that.
  • c0LLect0r,
How did you pay Check, money order or what? His number are really to good for him to risk getting a negative over a $11 deal. He has plenty of retured buyers.

    His Numbers:
Not a Registered User (for me not a problem enought recent feedback for me)

652 positives. 348 are from unique users and count toward the final rating. (all of this in the last six months, good and busy)

    0 neutrals.

2 negatives. 2 are from unique users and count toward the final rating.( 1 for a stained card and another said he did not receive, for me to many positives for me not to worry about these)

I just got a card that took over a month to get, it was a Mel Ott g/u , I paid for insurance and everything and the seller on Ebay said he mailed it, He had good Ebay numbers so I had no reason to doubt him. When I got it, it was postmarked when he said he mailed it. Not sure what took it so long, but it wasn't on the Ebay seller.
Good luck hope you get what you paid for, Mike

  • Thanks Mike. You put my hopes up again for today and getting our mail from the past 10 days (sine we have been in London). I really want the card (even though it wasonly $11) because this card is worth $50. I got a good deal and I don't wanna have it go to waste...plus my paents would be ticked. Ya...I know his feedback is good that is why I got the card.image

But, thanx for cheering me up.......for now.image

  • I payed by check...sorry.
  • collector, i just picked up a package at the post office yesterday that i mailed to singapore over 2 and a half months ago. it was not registered, it was not insured, it was not tracked. the cards are worth several hundred dollars (long story why there werent insured). i had given the buyer his money back well over a month ago ($140+) when they never turned up and i had written the whole thing off as a loss. well, to my utter amazement, the package turned up at my post office. it had been marked from singapore two months earlier, and it took that long to make its way back. i was shocked, and that definetly restored my faith in the postal system. sometimes waiting is all we can do. your seller has an excellent feedback rating, i dont think he would try to jam you for 11 dollars. what you can do, and this ive done after waiting a month for no card, is request the user contact information from the help screen on ebay. call the seller and ask what the story is. i did that once and after waiting a month with no card, i called the guy and had my card three days later. he hadnt mailed it yet. so, be patient, and dont assume the worst, and good luck man.

  • Thanx Crane. Dang...is the guy gonna give you back the $140?

I will let everyone know if I get the card today.
  • It's kind of strange the guy won't answer your emails or IMs tho.Have you checked with the bank to see if he has cashed the check? If not,put a stop payment on it.If he has,get the canceled check make a scan of the back with the eBay sellers sig on it & send him 1 last email saying something to the effect that:here is a copy of the proof that you have my money & if you don't respond to this email & send my card then I will begin a fraud investigation thru both eBay & the US Postal Service.
Usually mentioning the post office will get their attention as that is a federal offense. We did this with an eBay seller once & the cards appeared at our door 2 days later.Hope this helps.

  • LOL. Thanx.
  • Any luck? He may be on vacation this time of year with him not answering your email. Plus this seller is not currently offering any items for sale. So what day did you mail him the check? Also check with your parents and see if it was cashed and what date it was cashed, most seller will wait a couple weeks after cashing a check to make sure your check cleared. If he has not cashed it, I would not put a stop on it, I think that would cost more then the $11, plus this may mean it got there while he's away. If he is on vacation, he may have forgot to send it out after waiting till it cleared the bank or something. On the IM someone else could be using his computer, my daughter friends IM me all the time and I have gotten to where I just ignore them, cause I cannot help them. Also while you are waiting you may try to send the 2 that left negative on him and see if he ever made them good, or was helpful at all like he said in his response. I think it's to soon to think the worst of this Ebayer, but time will tell. Also the last Feedback your sellar left was June 4 2002, this could mean he went on vacation sometimes after this date or locked up or anything, but please keep us updated. That was a great deal you got lets hope for the best.

    Good luck, Mike
