Thinking about buying this one. Corners and edges look great, centering is off, but doesn't bother me on this card. Price is ok. Thoughts??

Looks better than a 6 from the pic.
I agree.
Nice card!
7oc. Nicer in a binder set.

Cool. I think I'll pull the trigger on it. Without me saying how much, what's a fair price?
I agree crack it open and put it in a binder set.
I would not offer more than 20-25. A nice looking 6 but if you are patient you can even find them for under 20 bucks. Let us know how it turns out. Here are some recent prices. Having said that this is one of the better looking 6's so I don't think the sellers asking price is unreasonable.

It's listed at 32 shipped.
For myself, properly graded. Touch in lower right corner, 3 fish eyes, surface marks in right sky area, upper right edge slightly rough, possible bleeding of pink color onto the white of name "Nolan Ryan".
Undergraded
Bluejay is indeed the "grader of death". His identity has been finally revealed.

Side to side centering is pretty good, which is usually where the problem lies with this card in my experience. The Ryan is located along the right edge of the sheet, which likely contributed to that issue. The color looks really bold. Corners really nice. The top right edge looks like a bit of a rough cut, but that might just be a glare. Besides the fisheyes, I see a lot of stray black ink in the sky background. Again, it may just be an issue with the photo, and my eyes playing tricks on me.
I haven't priced 75 Ryans for several years, but that seems a bit high, from what I remember. I recall PSA 6s being in the $15-$25 range (which aligns with what JBrules said), with 7s being $30-$40. Prices could certainly be at the level that this one is being offered for, now, as I wouldn't know. The card itself would certainly not look at all out of place at a party with these, though.
Here's some mid to lower grade raw ones that I have, also. My photos aren't the best, but hopefully you can see that the sky is normally much, much cleaner. If that is truly PD on the original card posted, I would think that you would want to hold out for either a better example, or a better price.
it's the nicest, cheapest 6 on eBay. Now, it's a BIN. Obviously an auction could turn out better. I always check the PSA price guide. But what I'm seeing is that cards almost always sell for more than it says. Auction or BIN. I haven't bought it yet. I feel if it were graded a 7, and some feel it's under graded, it would be a solid buy at $32 shipped. So, I'm still on the fence with it .
I'm not really knocking the card. It would fit right in with the graded ones that I own. The ones I've shown all have obvious issues, as well. I have put together a tremendous amount of raw 75 sets, to the point I've lost track and it would appear to be an exaggeration if I were to post my honest guess. The toughest raw card to acquire in even decent condition, by far, was the Nolan Ryan 500. It is most often OC side to side because of its sheet location. Oftentimes, the color is faded, not to mention fisheyes or edge chipping. I would often look for cheaper priced graded cards as crack out candidates, hence my stockpile.
The card you're considering is above average in all respects there. If I were still actively building raw sets, I'd personally be looking at that card for a possible crack out. I'm just pointing out, knowing all the usual issues with this card that aren't really showing up here in this example, then there must be another reason it only graded a 6. Is it undergraded? Perhaps. But I think the rough cut at the top right edge, and the apparent PD of black ink in the sky area is cause for what is really holding the grade down. If you can overlook those issues once in hand, and the price is where you want it, then go for it.
Awesome info, and thank you! I collect mainly football, but recently decided to venture into collecting the best of the best in baseball. I put a list of players together with help from the forum, and have went to work. Basically, I pick a player and decide which card I want. If their rookie is in budget I go that route. If not, I find the year card design I like best. Makes sense that these 75s are tough due to those colored borders. I may pull the trigger.
Remember these scans are from different scanners set at different settings.
Card certainly looks nice. PSA really "slams" this year.
I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I like the card. Buy the card not the holder right? When I get it in I'll post better pics of it for us to dissect!
Your comments are duly noted. You are now in our file.
Same seller also had this Pete Rose. It looks nice too. He cut me a deal so I took it too.
Really nice color and registration on the Rose. Nice pick-up.
I agree. Both are nice cards. I do see the dinged bottom right corner on the Rose. But I don't think it would look out of place amongst 7s either . More info once i have them in hand.
Got them in today. Both look really nice, and to me, a tad under graded. I think both should be 6.5s, with a case for 7s. But I'm happy..
Upon further inspection, graded accurately. The rose is closer to a 6.5 than the Ryan.
