Junk Hockey wax rip

I have an early print run case of 1990 Pro Set Hockey.
I figured I rip a box looking for the errors. Mainly the blood on shirt / nose card.
I pulled up the junk wax gems web sit to help with the error cards.
Well...….opening soon.

So much fun. About 2 years ago I bought a stack of 1990 Score boxes to rip with my kids. Came out about even with the Broduer pulls. Wish I’d stocked up to do again during quarantine. Have fun.

A surprisingly tough pull from those to look for is also the Stanley Cup hologram. I still haven't gotten around to picking one of those up for myself, and I've wanted it since 1990!

Once people realized you could metal detect for the 1990 holograms, they're unlikely to be found in any loose boxes. I don't recall if it worked on full cases or not.

It's one of the reasons why they switched to foil packs in 91.

Think I might actually have an unopened box of this product in a closet somewhere. Not a very attractive set if memory serves me.

Keep in mind that only the very earliest boxes of “error” printing has the Gillis error. And they were possibly only regionally issued. Most of the rarest and harder to pull variations are corrections from the equally rare final printing.

I ripped about 10 boxes worth of this last year. No bloody Gillis, but pulled plenty of rookies. Unfortunately they didn't move for very much on eBay.

The base Gretzky card was found on top of the packs, and you can easily see his name through the front at the bottom. I remember having probably 50 sealed packs with Gretzky showing on front back in 1990.

I have probably ripped about 10 boxes with my grandson over the past 4 years.
No errors and no Stanley Cup.
    Good Luck!

have a couple of errors i think from the 1990 Pro Set .. am unsure

1 . Ray Bourque - name misspelled front and back (borque)
    2. Brad McCrimmon - #4 on front
    3. Duane Sutter - no trade stripe , RW front C back
    4. John Tonelli - spelt Tonnelli
    5. Sean Burke - unknown blue mark on card pulled from pack
    6. Phil Bourque - bearded and name misspelled both sides
    7. Tim Sweeney - LW on front
    8. Jaromir Jagr - shifted stats
    9. Jeff Hackett - shifted stats
    10. adrien Plavsic - breaks in stat lines
    11. mike gartner - all star card .. jersey uniform #12 .. card says #11

the burke card - have the one with mark and without - almost looks like the number 4
