We're all thinking it but not saying it...…
No disrespect intended: upper right corner, especially on the reverse (eye immediately goes to it) screams 7 all day long. Mechanical error???

Not a mechanical error. That is pretty typical for these that were graded long ago. 9's and 8's had corner touches. But you are right, most likely would get a 7 if sent in today.
