Favorite card I own.... 55 Bowman Mantle

This has always been my favorite card. Something about 55's when they are the dark brown and in high grade with strong centering. I think it's interesting that the best 55's are all dark brown (Aaron, Mantle, Mays, Banks and Berra)

Wow, that is nice. 7-8 condition does not come up that often for sale. Great centering

That is a beauty indeed. I would certainly love to own that one if I was looking for that specific card.

Nice! Centering and chipping are a big problem with those......not that one though!

I have one awaiting grading from PSA. I'm expecting a 4 or 4.5, but the centering is nice and the corners are square with some wear.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's fun to sometimes just look at cards and enjoy the history and forget the value for awhile. Just love the look of Bowman's in High Grade.

Exactly. Usually each card can take us back in time to when we got it, why we wanted it, and a slew of other things. I think most of us don't nessesarily want, or buy a card because it's worth a ton of money.

    Mickey71...

That is one beautiful card...dead centered, no chipping and spot on registration ! I agree like 62s and 71s...those w/sensitive and unforgiving borders look gorgeous when high end and yours is high end!

Amazing card. Still need one for my ‘55 Bowman HOF set. The centering in yours is first rate. Beautiful card from my favorite set.

I have always loved the '55 Bowman set especially when they have decent corners and centering. I made a run at the set a few years ago and lost interest. That Mantle is a tough find with nice corners and edges. Congrats on the nice job finding that one.

I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!
