Looks like there is a new ebay scam where someone hacked into 100% feedback accounts from the UK with no history of selling sportscards and are attempting to sell high end items as a local pickup only in different cities across the US. They're using ebay's "Classified ad" listings and in each one they're including a picture with a UK email address to contact them through.
Here's an example of a high end MJ for sale,now check out the 2nd picture for the UK email address to contact them on even though the card is listed for pickup in Gobles,Michigan and their last item sold shipped from Kingwinford,UK:

Now look at the 2nd scan on this listing below from a different seller supposedly in Washington,DC with the same type of email from the UK,no history of selling sportscards in their feedback and their last item sold shipped from Coulsdon,UK:

Too show everyone how dumb this scammer actually is. He's hacked into this ebay account below that ships from Edinburgh,UK then he listed all of these "Local Pickup Only" listings across the US that are listed below:

I've reported most of these to ebay as fraudulent listings but that probably won't do much so this was just a heads-up to all members here to stay away if you come across these type of listings.

I just reported one very similar and had it removed. FWIW I always call Ebay concierge and it always seems to get removed. Every time I report it via website nothing happens. The scammers never let up. I did report this via phone call so we will see what happens.

They did remove over half of the fake listings from the seller i just mentioned just not those ones for some reason.

Not exactly sure how it would work but it was pretty obvious that something wasn't quite right. One of the noncard items I saw for sale was a "church" bus,it was literally a Greyhound bus for 6K lol. I think this idiot(s) were hoping someone would either pay before pickup or maybe even that someone really wants the card but can't pickup locally so the seller says he'll mail the card after payment. Then there being no card someone is out a lot of money. I only came across those three accounts because I had seen them while searching Jordan items but there must be many more because they were offering so many other noncard items too.

I've purchased items that were local pickup only, with no problem. You pay through eBay so both buyer and seller have protections, and then you arrange the best time and place through eBay messaging (to have a record) to get the item. It works great when it is actually a local brick and mortar business with posted address and regular store hours, but I've met people in the parking lot at the Royals game and the parking garage of the local casino.

I guess if the seller was a continuous no show, or the item wasn't as described, you would file a claim like always. I don't know what would happen if the seller insisted that they had delivered as promised. My items have been from high feedback sellers and for relatively low purchase prices. If they don't have a brick and mortar business, I figure there's cameras at the casino and I usually have witnesses with me at the game, so I'm covered.

There you go,if payment is handled beforehand through ebay then there's likely how the scammer is getting over on people. You're likely paying then going to some agreed upon location where you'll be waiting forever all while this seller is sitting in another country with your money.

I emailed this guy regarding a 51 Bowman Mantle that he had listed and was removed. Here is his response below. I noticed in the original listing that it said "Not eligible for eBay purchase protection programs". Now he is saying that it is. Just so happens that he cannot receive payment via PayPal and wants a bank transfer. No red flags on this transaction. LOL!!!

This card sold on 1/4/2020. Yet another red flag. Most people don't buy a Mantle card for 4999 and then turn around a couple of months later and sell it for almost a 2K loss.

I got screwed big time by a seller of a 68 and 69 set and was sent in a few of the Star cards and they came back as counterfeit.
Ebay was notified as was Topps from me and told me this was an copyright infringement however have a seller that sells fakes on eBay.I reported her and seen she was kicked off for a short amount of time but know she is back.WTF

I don't know if our boy is slacking today or if ebay is finally cracking down quicker on this loser but I haven't come across any of his/her MJ listings today.
