Interesting. I am curious what type of holder it was in. It is well past my max bid now.

  • yeah id like to know that as well. it must have taken years just sitting there unmolested to get those colors....

The Merc is outstanding. Probably worth the price of admission.

I noticed this group when I first started to peruse the lots for this sale. while the colors are extremely vivid, my hunch is that the actual in-hand appearance will be less like the Stack's close-ups and TV's, more like the Stack's holder views. they just seem a little dark, especially the Quarter.

I don't care for the speckled Nickel, but really like the rest of them. But not at that price.

Not my favorite type of toning, to be honest. I probably like the dime the best.

The color on that Walker is INSANE, though the strike is quite soft, even accounting for the fact that strike weakness is typical for the issue. Strike on that coin is below average for the issue, IMHO.

Those are coins that Gene Chow or AB would be proud to own!

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

The reverse of the Lincoln appears to show evidence of clashed dies...or is that just a luster effect?
