Can anyone tell me what is an 1847 Hawaii cent KM plain 4 17 berries?

They list it as a KM and one that is not, both 17 berries and plain 4. Is this a mistake? Any info appreciated

I believe the PCGS item which has KM in the text is a typo.
There should be just 6 varieties.

I could be wrong though. There should be experts here who can say more.
Yep, I think it might be a typo as well. I just found one in ms63 with a cac and I’m curious whether there is a census for these varieties
There might be a census or rarity estimates in the Medcalf and Russell book?
Perhaps a forum member has a copy.
Available on ebay for around $45:

Or you could make your own rarity estimates using auction photos:

I have a copy of that book, and can check tonight.

There are no rarity estimates on these in Medcalf & Russell (2nd & latest Edition - 1991) other than the catalog valuation in a series of grades. Basically the 18 berry (9X9) crosslet 4 and the 15 berry (7x8) plain 4 carry a slightly higher catalog value in the lower grades and a $300 to $1000 catalog difference in MS63. The other four varieties travel together with the 17 berry (8x9) plain 4 valued a touch more in higher grades than the other three.
Highest 17 berry I saw on Heritage was a 62. Didn’t see the variety described in the others in higher grades but it doesn’t mean anything ultimately unless I check pics of them all
