I just sent a package into our host. Heavily insured, registered and three day service, sig delivery. Does it cost a lot...yep but paying the 100 ish is worth the price if it makes it to CA from Va in three day’s.

I don't know what registered three day service is. In fact, when I take my registered packages to the post office in a priority box the clerks always make sure to tell me that the estimates on the receipt are almost certainly going to be wrong.

For high value shipments, the preferred shipping method is by Express Mail, well packaged, with private insurance. Always remember to check the "signature required" box !

    Agree.
USPS registered is the preferred shipping method for those who do not do enough volume to justify the cost of private insurance. Remember, the registered fee includes insurance and is based on the declared amount.

For what it is worth. The other top tier tpg just introduced a secure shipping service.
