Fake or Real? Austria 1721 Thaler DAV 1053

Well, I bought this expecting it to be a fake but couldn’t see anything obvious about it. It’s weight is 27.76 grams and it’s not magnetic. Was wondering if any of y’all have an opinion? Thanks!

It appears to be fake. The flare at the end of the last numeral 1 does not flare out as the examples that are available for this date. I am not sure if it is a contemporary fake, however it does not look like an original issue. That is my take on this coin. However, I am sure that someone with more knowledge with the series will chime in soon. Good luck!
I think it's real, FWIW. Surface quality looks poor though.

I think I am in real camp as well. Just stripped.
My current "Box of 20"
Looks real, just had a run-in with a brillo pad.
Need a more magnified image.
That’s about the best pics I can do with what I have at the moment.
After looking at it some more, I’m pretty sure it’s real. For twenty-one bucks, I’ll take it.
I think its real just harshly cleaned.
Can you measure the specific gravity?
+1. It looks legit to me.
I'm surprised no one noted - there are known Lauer later 1800s imitations of this coin. Same source of many of the ubiquitous "1760" Bavaria thaler replicas...
I strongly suspect this to be one. For those of you who know of these... I believe this type comes either with OR without the Lauer signature under the bust.
I'm not really a thaler guy... I only know about this because I researched one I saw cheap some months back.
Great images. I'm going to bail out on this one. I don't like the "fabric" of the coin or the smooth shiny edge. Other than that it could be genuine. Sorry I couldn't help with this one.
As I research more, I might recant my belief that this could be Lauer. Looking at pieces in auction archives, ones on eBay that are clearly the replica, etc. (signature or not)... in addition to other points of note, the style of the "2" in the 1721 date on the Lauer pieces is markedly different than on the originals. The "2" on originals is very short compared to the other digits, whereas the Lauer "2" is notably taller, in line with the other digits.
The surfaces are a but funny on this piece, and It does look like the piece was mounted as many of the Lauer pieces apparently were (see above the crown on the rev), which sort of lent support to the theory... but ex-mount would be nothing strange for a genuine thaler, either.
