Canada 5 cent doubling comparation to the US doubling.

Is this a true doubling of the 5.
If so, then it is not comparable with the US doubling

    Not sure what you are talking about or trying to compare. It looks like die deterioration.

    That where I get confused when am dealing with Canada and US doubling. Most of what I found from the Canadian all look like die deterioration.

    Probably not die deterioration - too sharp! The doubling on coins struck in presses is virtually the same all over the world. Is any other part of the piece doubled?

    The blue circle looks like flat mechanical doubling. The top red arrow points to a ding/hit caused by PMD. Bottom arrows look like they are pointing dirt and too much magnification (I don't see anything).

    As @Insider2 said, the modern minting process is similar throughout the world, so errors/varieties will be caused by similar mechanisms. Go to www.error-ref.com They picture many world coins in their explanations
