1968 Topps wax pack question

In what 1968 Topps series were the playing card game inserts issued? I see references online that they were issued in the 3rd series, but I see PSA graded pack pictures with that wrapper for 3rd or 4th series.

I have a GAI pack with the playing card wrapper but there appears to be a 1st series card on the back, so I am now questioning the authenticity.

    From a old unopened pack guide I have by Darren Prince from 1995. The 4th series had the playing card game inserts.
