It would be enjoyable if someone purchased a bag of 5,000 Wheaties and started a thread on each one! Challenging for the OP and for the rest of us.

All leading up to the error penny that you will never find

Someone probably tried to make a 1959 wheat cent.

This thing would not even go in the special jar.

I might throw it into the pond to help promote algae growth and development.

PMD. Cut the reverse of the 1959 cent out with a lathe. Take a 1958 cent and cut the obverse out to mach the 1959 reverse cut ... fit the 58 reverse into the 59 cent obverse opening. Do you know what is being made??

I've got one in the teaching set to show how a "cup-and-saucer" alteration is made. So, before trashing these specimens, I'd love to have them as they are hard to find.

OP: Is this an MS68 Brown? If not, why?

What's with that extra wide rim?

    Shouldn't you be wearing gloves?
