The Ethiopian era date on that coin looks like 1989 which would be in the late AD 1990s. Correct me if I am mistaken.
SCWC/ Krause says that all 5 Cent coins of this type are dated 1977.
Per Krause, there were over 201 million coins minted, and the order was fulfilled at the Royal Mint and also in Berlin. Some small number of collectors coins of this type were also done at the Franklin Mint. The length of the Lion's whiskers can be used to tell the difference between UK and Germany.
Interesting, so it appears as though I decided the date correctly. It was hard for me to read. Thanks for the input guys.
