Because of Billdugan's post in the first "mystery coin", this piece is also close to (or looks like) other British India pieces , maybe Begal or Bombay presidency.
I believe it is India from the same era (18th Century), but India was divided into many spheres of influence. It would be easier to let somebody who knows India to come along and notice this.

Probably India as others have said. I wonder if it was a part that the British controlled or a part that was out of the reach of their cannons.
