Modern Masonic chapter penny value?

shorecollshorecoll Posts: 5,445 ✭✭✭✭✭

A friend found a 2006 Lincoln cent in a roll, counterstamped with a Masonic symbol, I told them I doubted it was worth much, but thought I'd ask. It is cool, I asked them to look and see if they could ID a chapter name or number.

Not sure if a specific chapter would help or not. I know some counter stamped cents have a small following. Including myself I enjoy Masonic CS Lincoln’s. But a couple dollars not much

Probably not enough to make it worth bothering with. Just keep it as a curiosity.

For $8 or $10 you can buy a steel punch with the Masonic symbol on it and counterstamp as many coins as you want,

Value for a modern Masonic counterstamped coin is mainly as a curiosity - a buck or two if you are lucky.

I seen that one looks pretty cool, I dont think they are that expensive but never bought one. I picked this one up for under $25.00 did not really notice the small carbon build up but other than that its dated 1858 ( date of lodge creation ). Thank you willieBoyd2! o:) Altoona Pennsylvania Masonic Chapter Penny Token Mountain Chapter. So you can get them at a fair price.

The "constituted" or "chartered" date on a Masonic Penny is the date the lodge was created, not the date of the token.
