What's the oldest serial number coin you own?

erwindocerwindoc Posts: 4,925 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was looking at my quarters last night and the serial number on this old fatty caught my eye. I don't think I realized how low it is in relation to the current numbers. What is the lowest one you own?

Perhaps you might add NGC or PCGS to the title of your discussion so you find the answer to your question. I'll remind you that there were several TPGS around long before 1986 and their products had serial numbers. :)

Back when I was in Washington State, I would scroll through the fleaBay listings in the morning as I was riding the exercise bike. I stole those out from under Bob Paul...

However, your A00005 is an ANACS label, while these are Amos days.

Given the way the database is loaded with the XXnnnn -> nnnnnn conversions, this has to be a conscious decision to use the #s in-between the mappings (nnnn, 7nnnn, etc.) it just doesn't make a lot of sense.
