I would go with Mahomes. He can do things that no other QB can do. As far as the Super Bowl is concerned, I'm taking the Chiefs 31-27.

Being a Packer fan, I am all in on the Chiefs. Upside, unless you are a twenty-something I would not plan on investing on either.

Garappolo has very little to do with the team being in the Super Bowl. There is little upside to his cards in my opinion. There is still a lot of upside with Mahomes. He won MVP is his second year and is in the Super Bowl in his third. I'm not saying he's the next Tom Brady, but there is a lot of good things going to happen in this kids future. Mohomes without a doubt.

Mahomes is the next Peyton Manning. There will never be another Brady when it comes to Super Bowls or longevity.

I think he is a better athlete than Manning and Brady. If Mahomes stays healthy and out of trouble, he can be iconic, IMO.

    Mahomes no question.

Yep, not even close...Mahomes....provided he stays healthy, he will put up HOF numbers for sure, as long as the Chiefs keep plenty of "toys" at his disposal (Cheetah, Kelce, etc..)

Whatever happened to the good ol' days, when our quarterbacks wore fur coats and pantyhose.

Mahomes is a better QB and will be a better QB. Everybody knows that by now and his cards will be priced with that knowledge. With that being said, does Garappola have more "room" to grow in value if SF wins 2-3 superbowls?

Mahomes definately has a better skill set than Garoppolo. No lead is safe against the Chiefs when Mahomes is playing. The last two games, the Chiefs started poorly and were down, only to see Mahomes bring them back to win. He can explode at any given time, but Super Bowls will definitely play a huge role as far as value of cards goes, and that has yet to play out.

Go to the other forum...there is a high correlation of trimmed Mahomes cards in TPG holders and expected stardom/return.

So the Niners would still be playing in the Super Bowl if Nick Mullens was still QB?

I think Garrapolo is a really good qb. Of course if SF wins the SB and he puts up good stats every year his cards will of course increase.

Mahomes is s different animal though. His skill set is off the charts. Plus he's smart and continues to try to improve. His gawdy numbers alone will always make his cards wanted. (Dan Marino) Couple that with a super bowl win and they go off the charts. Of course it's the NFL and you just never know, but the skies the limit for Mahomes.

Mahomes is one of a kind. Haven’t seen QB’s do what he can do. His numbers will fluctuate thru the years because there will be turnover at WR, TE positions. Chiefs are loaded there now. Predicting a close win for the 49ers though.

Mahomes value shouldn't suffer much if he were to lose the SB. Anticipation by the collecting fans each year will be high based on his known ability. For the foreseeable future he will be a contender for post-season play, offering a good chance for more SB participation. Provided he stays healthy, as is the case for any player. These factors should keep his value steady.

Just wondering if you've ever watched football? Want to compare Lamar Jackson to Nathan Peterman too?

I think whenever I hear that Nine inch Nails song "Mr Self Destruct " I will think of your guy! If only the Niners had a QB that could have secured the game for them with his arm and legs.

Had an Optic Mahomes rookie PSA 10 that I pulled from a pack about a year ago and subbed myself. Couldn't sell it for $100 six months ago. 2 minutes after he was announced as Super Bowl MVP, I got the notice on my phone that someone had hit the BIN for $259.99. That being said, I'm guessing I will be able to buy one back during the summer for about half that price but I could be wrong.
Never had anyone knocking down my door for Jimmy G cards.

There's always next year. Too bad you can't say the same for your guy :p
