What is a National Championship worth??

If you're LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron it's worth $7 million for six years!!! Looking at the three year record thus far it looks as though he deserves it.....................until you consider that Joe Brady and Joe Burrow are both gone. My uneducated guess is that next season brings LSU no Conference Championship, no Top 10 finish in the National Rankings and, worst of all, a date with Nick Saban on November 7th!! Enjoy that big contract, Ed, the Trustees may be looking for your scalp in a few years.

I don't see LSU being a contender next season either. Their bacon and eggs are gone, all they're left with is grits and toast.

That's the Louisiana way. Party hard and pay up. Ed is a good ole boy here, gruff, boudin eating, cigar smoking.... Go Tigers, kind of guy. They'll buy him out in four years like Les if he doesn't produce.

What's it worth? I doubt it can be quantified in dollars or the inflated expectations that can never be satisfied.

Even if Ed doesn't win another National Championship at LSU, he still brought LSU a title, and that is priceless. It's not easy to win a National Championship and most coaches can only dream of winning a title.

We saw it here with Doug Pedersen winning the Super Bowl. Winning is all is something special and is never forgotten.
