Are there any known errors on the 2006 D South Dakota State Quarter? I found one that appears to have an error, but have not been able to find known errors on that coin.

Most errors are one offs. They can occur on any coin.
Just post pics to get feedback.
As @jbk posted. An error is an error regardless of the coin.
Sometimes a descriptor is added to make it sound more interesting like a die scratch (error) touching the top of Monticello might be called a lightning bolt because the shape and placement.

Here is a picture of the coin. The letter "O" is missing in the word "SOUTH" at the top of the coin.
It looks like a filled die error. Cool, but they are considered minor errors and are rarely worth more than face value. Nice find though

Grease filled die. Can happen on any coin at any time if enough stray grease makes its way onto the die,
Yours is a fun one as the entire letter is missing.
I'd keep it if I found it, but I would not expect much of a profit if I tried to sell it.
Nice example of a grease filled die.
