Question on RE-submission for a Variety attribute on a Morgan

jgrinzjgrinz Posts: 985 ✭✭✭

I have a 1884-o Morgan in a PCGS MS64 holder unattributed but is a VAM-10
DO you have to repay for a grading along with the attribution / varieties charge
when submitting for a Variety attribute.
thanks

Yes. Variety attribution is an “add-on” (block #7) for an additional $18 based upon the submission form.

@Hemispherical, your generous gift of your time helping people out is so wonderful, and your advice is always spot on accurate, so I doubt myself now when I think I disagree. When you read the fine print on the back of the current submission form, it looks like you can check “Reholder” as the service, and then have the $18 variety attribution as the add on to that, which is less costly than having it regraded.

    Your thoughts?

A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!!!

My collecting “Pride & Joy” is my PCGS Registry Dansco 7070 Set:

You are correct. I missed where @jgrinz stated, “...repay for a grading....”

Reholder is $12 and costs less than regrading.

So, the least expensive, with an already PCGS encapsulated (graded) coin is to reholder ($12) plus selecting variety ($18).

Thanks for catching my mis-step @winesteven.

Sorry, @jgrinz. If you’ve already mailed your submission you should call CS to make the correction. Best time to call is when you receive the email saying they’ve received the submission and prepping.
