Anyone here ever sell to (or through) David Lawrence?

topstuftopstuf Posts: 14,803 ✭✭✭✭✭

Their selling options are sure varied. Outright sell, auction, or consignment.
Most of the bases covered. :)

Have you ever done any or all and, if so, how was the comparison between DLRC and other venues?
Auction or otherwise?

PM if you don't want to state on open forum.

Thanks. :)

I consigned a few coins successfully to DLRC when John F. was at the helm. It has been a while though.

Ask for Jason if he is still there. Good guy that is easy to work with.

Gotta admire when someone can admit a mistake and then take steps to correct their error.
Just curious; who caught that it was counterfeit?

Yes, I sold a few coins outright to DLRC. Pretty smooth transaction. Same as buying from them.

I’ve sold them hundreds of coins in a dozen or so transactions and always felt that the prices were fair and the process was painless.

I have never sold through David Lawrence but I’ve sure bought a few Stellar coins from them.

I don't like dealers so I send my dups there when I upgrade.
DLRC offers a fair price and quick service.

I sometimes buy there also & have always been happy.

I had a positive buying experience DLRC just a couple of weeks ago. I would recommend them.

DLRC is o.k. There is always the potential for a problem in any business transaction. Human error, etc. DLRC is as good as it gets. Don't worry.

lmao. How come DLRC isn't considered a "dealer"?

I have bought many coins from DLRC since 2006. Never any problems, and very easy to contact a representative when a question arises. Always friendly and acomodating. Free shipping, and in my experience, the purchased coin is mailed out the same day payment is received.

I have never sold to them, but they would definitely be tops on my list if I ever decided to do so.

    DLRC is great!

I have used them multiple times for selling including a very large deal earlier this year. I was VERY happy with the deal and how easy they made it for me and would happily do it again

I have bought from them about a half-dozen times but never sold. I paid up but I was very pleased. I'm sure the consignor was happy, too.

If I recall, he got caught in one of the "emotional" purges.....he didn't say anything bad, and nothing that should have been interpreted as bad, but he posted at a time that things were really hot.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

It's been about a year since I sold to them but it was quick, easy and fair. They even paid for the shipping and insurance. Maybe that was because the deal was ~80k? They paid VIA a funds transfer, so payment was quick too.

My only knock on DLRC is they can be slow on their communications. e.g. I'm "currently" working a deal with them and have been waiting for about 10 days now for their next response. (Yes, I know I could call but email/detail is really needed on this one) I suspect the FUN show slowed them down a bit so hopefully I'll hear back in the next few days.

One of my favorite things about buying that coin has never been mentioned.
Where was I when I convinced Mr. Hansen to bid on this coin?
I was at Disneyland and had just gotten off of the Lightning McQueen Ride with my oldest son...I guess that the place truly is Magical?

I was involved with a strange circumstance one year at an ANA show that concerned a particular coin, another dealer, and DLRC. I won't go into specifics, but the ethics that DLRC exhibited in that instance raised their stock in my eyes considerably. They went out of their way to do the right thing and it took a little work on their part.

John, thanks for your quick followup. The entire process, from your initial ballpark offer, to shipping, to final/firm offer, to actual payment in my hand was handled quickly, fairly and professionally.
