Purchased a Very Large Collection Locally (with pics)

So the other day I purchased a large collection locally. Its gonna take me a while to go through. My entire car was filled. The trunk, back seat, and the passenger seat. Lots of partial and complete sets (1971-through the 90s), as well as lots of random boxes labeled miscellaneous. I will post more pics once I go through it to show what I find!

What I Collect:

PSA HOF Baseball Postwar Rookies Set Registry- (Currently 77.97% Complete)

PSA Pro Football HOF Rookie Players Set Registry- (Currently 19.26% Complete)

PSA Basketball HOF Players Rookies Set Registry- (Currently 6.02% Complete)

that's the kind of stuff I like to get off Craigslist for pennies on the dollar...if you know how to spot gradable cards, the effort can be quite fruitful....

The man said it was his father in laws collection. I guess he inherited it and didn’t want it anymore. They are moving so they are getting rid of a lot of stuff that they didn’t want to move with them. I can see why he didn’t want to take it with him on a move. It was a lot and pretty heavy to.

I came across a handful of 1982 Topps Reggie Jackson and Fernando Valenzuela that all have really bad yellow ink smudge errors. Are these worth anything really?

If I got those, I would instead ask ... Am I worth anything to the smudges

Enjoy your time searching. To me that is just as much fun as finding a gem in that hoard.

Probably not a lot, but I'd be interested in a copy of each.

To the right buyers, certainly a small to medium premium perhaps. To most, not anything more than a clean copy of the same card.

I am one of those collectors that would add something like that to my collection for the right price.

Good luck with the search. That is the fun part.

I collect Steve Garvey, Dodgers and signed cards. Collector since 1978.

wow hideous print defects. Man I have 3 dead nuts centered front and back ‘78 Topps Murray cards pulled from the same rack case with hideous splotches on them. Ughhhhh I’d love to share but can’t take away from those Reggies and Fernandos. It looks like a dog peed on them

I wish I could agree. He's deserving, but looks like a 68-70% finish for him this year.

I think the more interesting question is how close will Larry Walker get? He's the next highest from Jeter at 83.7% on 195 known public ballots versus 65.9% on 232 known public ballots before the final results, dropping to 59.7% final.

Here are some more pics. Mostly some random type cards such as OPC, Coke, Burger King, etc. Also included are pics of the only 50s and 60s cards found. They are all pretty beat up.

A bunch of Rich Dauer autographs and a Expos autograph that I am not sure of. If anyone can figure it out let me know!

    Some 79' Hall of Famers

    Some beat up 50s cards!

86- 1981 Topps Alan Trammel!! (anyone like Trammel a lot?)

Burger King, OPC, and Coke cards
