Won my first auction with GreatCollections... So far a smooth process. I'm looking forward to an alternative to Ebay...

Great place to buy and sell.
And being so close to their "home office", I can win a coin on Sunday, and have it in my hot little hands on Tuesday.
I have browsed Great Collections site/auctions and found to me what seemed to be over priced coins. Although I have not looked in some time. I am sure it matters on the time and what you are looking for. Congrats on your win btw! We love Pictures (hint hint) 😆
I like GC for both selling and buying. I also like Ebay……...you just have to look thru a lot of junk to find the nice coins, And yes, there are nice coins on Ebay.
That must be nice!
I like GC a lot. Their shipping is usually very quick. I have bought a lot of coins from them in the past couple of years. They have quality offerings and are gaining in popularity amongst both buyers and sellers.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

I buy often from GC. Never any problems.
Great Collections is great. Hassle-free selling and quick shipment when buying.

I've only sold coins on Great collections to what I think were mixed results. To me that means they have the right mix of being a Buyers and Sellers auction.
Their commissions thus far are reasonable.
Nothing but good things to report about GC, I've been buying there for almost three years now and have probably purchased 60+ items. Coins are shipped like clockwork; win coin sunday night, get my tracking monday night, coins are delivered to me in Connecticut by Friday. Will have to try selling some coins there at some point.
No doubt they are top notch. Haven't bought anything there in awhile but I'm well into 5 figures purchase wise.
When I win - I pay that night, and they're to me in NY on Wednesday. You can get a lot of stuff under greysheet, and often cheaper than eBay.
When I sell, the good stuff sells very well, the common or less than stunning pieces maybe don't do that great, but better than offers I've had in my case most of the time.
I did well on exquisite or top/near top pop world coins, but common world coins seem to sell very cheap, that would be my only dig on selling.
The forms are simple if you write small - I do one form for any going to NGC, one for PCGS - I will say this though, if you have obscure varieties - send lots of notes, write on the flip - I did have a mixup with their submitter, but I learned to separate variety coins so they know which ones need variety attribution. Got a phone call from Ian himself on the mixup, and it was fixed fast though.
All-In-All, it's top notch for buying and selling.

As above. Pay on Sunday, coin in hand in Dallas on Wednesday. Great operation.
GC is AG.
.....and I don't mean AG-3!
Have been a regular buyer and an occasional seller. Impressed by the customer service including the quick shipping.
Plus you can get in touch with Ian pretty easily.
Great joint! I’ve purchased lots of coins from them. Fantastic service in every regard. For selling < $75 widgets, I think eBay still returns better prices. At least that’s been my experience. I expect as GC draws more and more eyeballs, selling will get much better. Anyway, great people! Love their site!

Great Collections is the best! Like you're dealing with an old time Mom and Pop store. They take care of you. Large or small purchase. All the same. Good people.
I have made several bids with no wins. I have sold with great collections and i have been very pleased!
I've won coins on Sunday and have them in my hot little hands on Monday morning. Many, many times. Go figure. They work overtime! I figure that they like what they are doing. And...value their customers.
GC is great and getting better all of the time. I just switched to echeck payment as I am buying more from them now.
Best, SH
I agree with this. I took a beating on all my ms 64's and below Peace and Morgans. But it's not their fault I paid too much for them to begin with.
I had a standing lib that they failed to include the FH in the listing title, but I could/should have asked them to correct it, and didn't. I'm sure they would have, because their customer service is wonderful.
Did well enough with some older type...
Mixed results, but still think it's a great business model. And how often do we find good customer service in ANY industry nowadays?

i'm in Ohio, Receive mine on Thursday.
I highly recommend Great Collections for buying (I’ve never sold with them)! Many of their coins are in the $50-$1000 range, so you don’t have to be a big spender to be able to find something you like. Their buyer fees are also much lower than some of the bigger auction houses’.
In Illinois if I pay Sunday night 9/10 times I'll have the coins Wednesday.
The customer service and attention you receive is second to none.
GC is A+ in my book. Hope they stay around for a long time.

I always give them a look.
I do too. But they are starting to seem like a curated eBay. Lots of fairly high starting bids.
Nothing but good results with GC. What I especially appreciate is that their shopping rates to NZ are very reasonable.
Smitten with DBLCs.
Yeah, cause unlike some unnamed auction houses, the shipping fee isn't a profit center for GC...and hopefully it stays that way.
Just got their latest catalog. Some pretty pow'ful coin coming up.
