1948 Bowman hand cut - how to tell?

I've begun my 1948 Bowman football quest. I've read some articles and old forum posts on these cards and somewhere I saw to "beware of hand cut cards". I wasn't sure if this means trimmed cards, or cards that where somehow hand cut off of printer reject sheets. Also, an eBay seller advertises some of these cards as "minimum size" which I inquired about and was told there were some cutting irregularities and PSA for instance won't grade all of them.
Is there a source for further reading in this or what do you about this?

I dont have any answers for you as the 48 Bowmans were not something I collected but if you visit the Net54 boards there is a few people over there who know these cards very well. Tedzan is of the age where he actually opened packs of these cards and has assembled many sets and is very open to sharing any information he has. I would reach out to Ted to see if he has the answers you are looking for.
Here is a link to the current discussion on 1949 Bowman baseball cards that was started by Ted.

Good luck.
Thank you. I will kick around over there and reach out to Ted as you suggest.
I don't have permission to do much over there yet (post or contact members), but Tedzan's previous post on the topic was one that I came across in prior internet searches.
I'm still locked out at net54baseball. Not sure if anyone here has experience then?
I see alot of cards like this:
It is straight cut at the bottom and then angled at the top (the front looks good though, it has fairly even cuts unlike the back). I have seen many of these on ebay, even some in graded holders. Then of course there are plenty of others that are straight on the top and bottom, so I don't know what the deal is with that...perhaps just printing irregularities at the factory.
