My Gawd Heritage!!!!!

MarkMark Posts: 3,542 ✭✭✭✭✭

I won a coin in the Heritage auction Saturday afternoon. My winning bid was well less than my maximum bid. I can't pay yet because apparently the invoice is not yet available. But Heritage already shipped it to me via two-day shipping. I may have the coin in hand before I am able to pay for it. Yes, perhaps some of their fees are on the high side, however talk about a high-class operation!

It happened to me also...Sort of...
I got the invoice after my tracking number.
    It wasn't a cheap coin either :o

Not as much luck for FUN though.
Zero for 3 :s & they all went over PCGS price (none CAC)

It has happened to me multiple times. Great service imo.

    Only happened to me ONCE.

Every other time; I had to WAIT.

I enjoyed watching the Walkers go off, on Thursday, but really thought that most of the prices were SOFT. :(

Good for buyers but bad for consignors.

    JMHO.

The prices really varied by category. Dollars also seemed soft. Nickels seemed solid. Commems, ironically, seemed solid. The lower grade gold seemed soft, but the better gold seemed strong, especially the CAC gold.

Overall, I can't really tell what the overall Market temperature is.

Me either. I must add that the Walkers that I did see were not very good quality for the grades overall but, of course, there were a few exceptions. I also noticed that the woman who was acting as auctioneer seemed to be moving very briskly and was not really working the crowd. The lots were closing very quickly.

Funny you should mention that. I thought that she and the heavy set guy who followed her were both newbies or something. There seemed to be a lot of timing issues and confusion over where the bids were coming from. The other woman who normally does it and that grey-haired gentleman (sorry, I'm horrible with names) are much slicker.

I think a lot of the result variation is probably related to quality. But some stuff was selling below sight-unseen price which seems too cheap.

They ship to me before I pay. It started after I had bought multiple times.

I purchased a MS66+ Hawaiian. The TrueView is below. Based on the Heritage picture, I think the coin is not as pretty as the TrueView shows, but I think I'll be happy with it.

Good luck! I hope you're pleasantly surprised!

I too have had coins shipped from Heritage on multiple occasions prior to paying the invoice.

I've only had two speeds with them - slow and it's been so long that I forgot I won that coin.

Regarding the comments about soft prices, I bid on only one coin, a Proof Barber Quarter graded PR67+CAM by PCGS with a CAC. The eye appeal (at least to me) was terrific. The PCGS pop is only 1, with 4 finer at PR68CAM. I was the high bidder, and I was pleasantly shocked at the very soft price, well below my max bid.

I agree, but I also feel that same way with Heritage.

For what their fees are they should do things like this. If their fees were fair AND they did this, THEN I'd be amazed.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

They must of used the Fed ex at the show. Fed ex had some down time so they probably decided it was insured and better to ship straight from show then have to deal with carrying stuff back and sorting it all out. Great deal for you. Terms are often given to the right folks. Please share pics when it arrives.
