I saw Rush live in concert back in 1982. Man he had a huge drum set. Was a great show.
OMG! This is sad! Just another part of my youth gone forever....RIP, Neil Peart.

RIP
NO! This is sad news. He was a great musician.
Listening to Rush in his honor. A very distinct, snappy, overwhelming drumming style, in a similar skill and style much like Keith Moon of the Who. RIP, but their music lasts forever.
Let's see some gold-Rush coins or medals

I don't know what to say, except I agree!
2112 was one of the first albums I bought! The music sounds as fresh as it did back then!
RIP...Your music lives on!
RIP. Truly an anchor of Rock n roll...

“Living on a lighted stage approaches the unreal, for those who think and feel, in touch with some reality beyond the gilded cage.”
He was one of the best song writers in Rock history.
Oh...and here is my coin!
So sad. He dealt with so much tragedy losing his wife and daughter in a two month span and then life decided it wasn’t enough and makes him spend his last 3 years battling cancer himself. Just awful
So glad I was able to see his talent in person so many times over the years.
RIP to a true legend.
RIP
I couldn't believe it when I heard, very sad. Simply a superb percussionist and great writer. Still underrated IMHO.
I'm posting a few things, I'm a big Rush fan.
So sad to hear! Definitely one of the best drummers in his genre.

Liberty: Parent of Science & Industry
My first "favorite band" and likely still the band that means the most to me. I saw them scores of times live in the 1970s and 1980s and even brought my wife to a Rush concert for one of our first dates nearly thirty-years ago.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
My friends parents also went to a rush concert for one of their first dates. Who knew rush was such a romantic show all this time!
I’m too young to have seen them in the 70s but would definitely be one of my first time machine stops. 70s rush is my absolute favorite especially hemispheres and A Farewell to Kings.
I don't have the words to express my sadness for the loss of one of the greatest drummers.

Your friends will miss you,
and your artistry will comfort all of us.
Listening to Rush while I was in high school - their music helped me cope. The song "Subdivisions" just about summed it all up.
Sad loss for sure.
RIP Neil. In Top drummers of all time. Heaven is rock'n!
