Trying to attribute an 1867 No Rays RPD. Almost no photo plates in CoinFacts. Any suggestions ?

    If you have an image, post it here. There are some real Shield Nickel specialists on this board. The series has a lot more varieties than are listed in the Cherry Pickers guide, which would be the ones on Coin Facts.

    Can't get the desired resolution with my dinosaur camera, but this shows the East - West shift of all date numerals.

    And with some additional magnification:

    ATS has a decent varieties section on their website;

    ...however a well known SME for Shield Nickels is @howards

    I don't see this in "Fletcher" but it is an older reference.

    I did find one that looks similar to yours? On the NGC pages.
    but a tad different. Although, I do see your's has the identical mark between the 6 and 8? :*
    Your's seems to have the opposite shift.

    "Mechanical doubling is probably the most common form of doubling on U.S. coins and the form of doubling most often confused with doubled dies, especially by those just getting started with collecting die varieties.

    This form of doubling has been known by a number of different names over the years.  It has been referred to as “ejection doubling”, “machine doubling”, “strike doubling”, “shift doubling”, and “shelf doubling”.  If you see references to any of these, it is most likely mechanical doubling that is being referred to."
