A Houston Astros coaching staff member going through an opponents garbage looking for any advantage they can get. This stuff just kills me.😂😂

I really dont have a problem with stealing signs. it has been going on for 150 years. I dont care if it is the guy on second relaying it in or a camera in center field. teams just need to make it harder to steal their signs, there are ways to do that. this is a big non starter for me.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Stealing signs is a part of the game. We all know that. And the pitchers, etc started covering their mouths during mound visits with the advances of television coverage and what not. But I do not agree that the stealing of signs using methods not available at the advent of the game is okay. By that I mean using camera technology or listening devices, etc to pick up on things. I have honestly not gone through all of the details of this, and I would love to hear counter arguments.

Edit to change word for clarity.

Many things weren't around at the advent of the game like batting helmets, fielding mitts, catchers gear and the pitchers mound. All of which give players advantages. Should they not use any of those modern technology because it was not around at the begining, or should players/teams adapt to modern equipment/techniques? I say evolve and adapt.

It will probably eventually become like the NFL where pitchers and catchers will have earpieces and both get the call from a coach up in a press box.

I probably should have phrased my reply better.

With this particular issue, we are dealing with the catcher giving the sign to the pitcher, and the back and forth between them, and then the eventual pitch they decide upon. This process, along with the relaying of signs between dugout, players, and on field coaches, is an integral part of the game. These signs have seemingly always been given under the risk of them being stolen. The addition of television cameras and later high definition television has led to an ever increasing attempt to hide and change up these signs. But the use of a cameras zoom function to steal signs within live game action is not part of the game. It is out of bounds and needs to be stopped. I am not sure what is in plan for allowing catchers and pitchers to communicate electronically. Sort of joking here, but it could be that the catcher has something he presses which relays a certain number of beeps to the pitchers ear like a hearing test. He could then shake off the single beep fastball, etc. :D

yesterday the Texans were up 24 then blew chunks all over the field and lost by 20

today the Astros cleaned house after systematically cheating, which included banging on a trash can

tomorrow i predict TMZ will unveil footage of Harden, Westbrook, Clint Capela & Mike D'Antoni having a 4some

Stealing signs using technology and then pumping that info into the dugout is a disgrace. Bye bye Alex Cora
