Not a coin, but overpaid a little and don't care:

I have a little issue with your premise. I have many coins that I've paid well above "Price Guide" values to obtain, but it was because I thought those coins were worthy of their price. I would also expect to be able to get above book values were I to sell them. In these cases, I don't think I overpaid for the coins.

interestingly, when I sold my Peace dollar collection, the ones that I made the most money on were, without exception, the ones I "overpaid" to obtain. Here's one of them:

    I like it :)

I paid up for this coin because it had “the look” I go after.
I also didn’t like the color of the green sticker so I had it changed! ;)

Wait, I thought only TPGs were allowed to change their opinions. >:)

    Beautiful coin, by the way!

One of my favorite years. Bought it overseas my first enlistment. This coin has been many places with me. I am sure I paid too much.
Why my favorite year...America became America in 1783
September 3 – American Revolutionary War: Treaty of Paris – A treaty between the United States and the Kingdom of Great Britain is signed in Paris, ending the war and formally granting the United States independence from Great Britain.
