Came accross this 1988 1C Denver MM.

Could it be doubled?

    Zinc blister/rot.

    When the cent was struck, the thin copper plating split along the side of the mm exposing the zinc underneath. The zinc is starting to corrode, making it look doubled. Split plating is common on cents in the 80s as the mint was still figuring out how strike high volumes using the new planchets
