How does Jim Rice show up with his Red Sox home uni at Yankee stadium in that '77 Topps card?
Couldn't have been a pic from the All Star game at Yankee Stadium because that was held in 1977 when these cards were already well distributed. Must be standing in front of the wrong backdrop in a photo shoot LOL

Some awesome 75 racks there though the rack with both Brett and Yount on top is not authentic, unfortunately.

Yes I know that one is not real. That said the cards are razor sharp and it still looks cool, although it kills me to display something evidently tampered with. I have just sent a bunch to Steve for authentication and will send the rest in a few days.

The 77 rack with Dawson RC on top is an interesting one in that Dawson is typically found in the end section. However, there is a known aberration in collation for 77 racks in which cards cut from 2-star sheets (like Dawson) are located in both middle and end sections so I'm assuming the card on back of that middle section is also from the 2-star sheet.

Definitely. I knew that before I bought it. The seller has about 20 other racks that were from an unopened rack box an a few others had the star rookies like Jack Clark in the center panel. If you’d see it you could tell it was legit. The Dawson is gem mint. I already talked to Steve hart about it. I overpaid for it at the time (close to $700) because he had listed it with probstein, but I am sure it is more valuable than that now.

And yes finding out that 75 rack with Brett and Yount on top was homemade nearly made me quit the hobby. I think it was you who first clued me in on one of the message boards. I was in denial at first, because you can’t easily tell by the plastic and the cards themselves are perfect. I’ve learned however since that panel placement is the key to judging the authenticity of racks from about 1974-1982. Beyond 1982, it seems much less reliable as key cards often appear in different panels. It goes to show you how long people have been tampering with rack packs. I bought it in 2003, long before I knew anything about panel occurrence, sheets, etc. Luckily around that same time I bought the legitimate 75 rack with Ryan and Yount on top which I think is the prize of the collection.

1980 Topps Unopened Rack Pack Henderson RC Showing Top Nolan Ryan Bottom MINT

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Topps-Unopened-Rack-Pack-Henderson-RC-Showing-Top-Nolan-Ryan-Bottom-MINT/333531026548?hash=item4da7ff9474:g:8c4AAOSwI5FeWmw0

Currently on eBay is almost certainly a fake. Henderson should always be in the panel next to the header card rather than on the end panel

100% correct. Henderson is from B sheet which should be located in the header section with other cards from A & B sheets.

Ryan is in the right cell but Henderson is not. And to make it worse, the card on back of that end cell (Reds Future Stars) is from E sheet which is correct for that cell.

It's worth well more than $700 now.
