#1- Mike Bibby*: Bibby is not leaving Sacramento,
but that doesn’t mean other teams won’t call. It also doesn’t mean Bibby will sign a seven year deal, as the Kings would like. David Falk is a shrewd as they come with contracts and Bibby has shown no desire to get involved in the business side of things. What is likely is a long-term deal, what may happen first is a lot of posturing.
#2- Bonzi Wells*: The Blazers continue to sign Bonzi will be re-signed, but
does Bonzi want to stay in Portland? He continues to hint that a clearly defined role is more important than mountains of Paul Allen’s money, but how many players have walked away from huge contracts in this century? Bonzi is likely going to look at his options.
#3- Michael Olowokandi*: You can say what you like about Kandi,
he’s 7 foot and can play, he is getting better with time, and had a great season last year. He’s restricted in his options, and LA says they’ll re-sign him, but talk from Dallas is Cuban and company like him, and his agent is agreeable to talks.
#4- Rodney Rogers: The Celtics said early on they wanted to keep him, but the economics of keeping him, and a marginal playoff performance may have them looking elsewhere, while Rodney talks with the Knicks. He is a totally free agent, and has said he’ll look at everything, but Boston was still a ‘prime’ option.
#5- Raef LaFrentz*: The Mavs gave up a lot to get an extended look at Raef, and while they really like him, he is really a scoring four, not the 5 they had hoped him to be. The Mavs are going to likely re-sign him, but the money he was demanding from Denver, may be a stretch in Dallas.
