Anyone know the current market value for either a 1975 Topps Baseball or 1974-75 Topps Hockey Wax pack tray? Thanks

Thanks! Appreciate the information. Recently came across one. That's a very rare tray. Nice pickup!
Make sure it has the correct backing though. There are some fakes out there.
Tray should look like this:

What is the best way to protect the trays? Is there a protective tray? ThanksSend it in to BBCE and have Steve Hart authenticate, slab, and wrap it. Increases value and greatly increases protection. The rack "rubber" if you will

That’s the back on mine. Thanks!
Thanks. I also came across a 74-75 Topps Hockey tray. Any idea on market value?
Keeping or selling the wax trays? Just curious...mostly.
Keeping for now. Thanks

I purchased the Ultra Pro Toploader Rack Pack holder from BBCE. Will that work well, also?
Just curious, but why would it not be legit to have the sports card locker advertisement on the back of a 1975 bb wax pack tray?
That cardboard tray backing wasn't used till 1977.

Thanks ,
I wonder why they would of used the sports card locker advertising on the backs of 74 wax packs and 75 packs but not on the cardboard backing of wax trays until 77.
These are the tray backings used during the 1970s:
1974 (also seen for 1972 trays)
1975-1976
1977 (bar code printed on tray)
1978 (Topps began printing bar codes on cellophane beginning that year; in some cases covering up the code on the leftover 77 trays earlier that year)

Hey Cooperstown,
Pretty Nifty Wax Tray!
Great discussion and thanks for refreshing it. Value wise what are wax trays currently selling for these days from 1974-1977? I know they have risen quite a bit the last 6-8 months.
I have not seen a 74 bb tray for sale in the last 2 years
They are super tough and it's been a lot longer than that...the ones I've seen listed claiming to be 1974 trays have been 1976 trays misidentified as 1974 trays due to wrapper similarities but 74 trays consist of 10c packs (instead of 15c) and have a different tray backing. I have one with each wrapper variation. GAI goofed and mislabeled a number of them in this fashion and also holdered several bad 1975 trays with the wrong tray backings, also.

Both the 75 and 76 trays sold for discounted prices due to wrapper tears in the packs in the tray.

Thank you for chiming in Tim. What do you think 75 and 76 trays go for today - $6000 and $2500 respectively?
My pleasure, KC. A bit lower than that, I'd say $5500 and $2200.

Thanks Tim. Of course when you factor in the gas to and from the post office you can another $100-200 to the price.
