1999 p Delaware quarter. Looks silver

Could this be an experimental planchet

    Coated in a silvery material. Probably from a “special” gift set made after it left the Mint with jacked up prices.

    Worth 0.25.

    Does indeed look silvery but not silver. Plated as above,

  • It's very unlikely that it's silver if it was found in a normal coin roll. That would mean that someone bought it from the mint for more than face value in special packaging, then either they took it out and spent it, or someone else did. I can't tell for sure though. Local coins stores will probably have machines that can tell you the silver content for certain, though.
