1944 Ss US cent ?

Southeast of the 1, between 1 and 9
I'm guessing they could not agree on the size of the mint mark.
Does it really matter?

    IMO, anything you think you see is due to the corrosion/crud around the date area.

    Looking for errors on coins with a lot of damage is rarely successful, especially if you think you found something significant.
