Compact Copy Stand System for Coins - $595
Last year I introduced my System-9 Copy Stand coin photo system, and it turned out to be my most popular so far. Based on many inputs from folks I have created a new, more compact but still very flexible and capable "System-X". This new system is configurable for the full range of coin sizes, variety detail shots down to mintmark or smaller, full slabs, and medium-sized medals. I used a laminated wood base rather than the composite material of System-9, reducing system cost. This new system is also compact enough to ship in a Large Flat Rate box so is overall more economical. Here is what System-X looks like, configured for full coin imaging:
,
Best thing is this system is considerably cheaper than System-9. The full coin imaging configuration shown above, including Copy Stand, Bellows, Lens, Lights, and Camera is $595.

Nicely done sir! Much more value here than in the Beseler copystand I bought a fee years ago.

I've received questions about the lens-mounted diffuser, so I thought I'd give some more info on them.
The diffuser for the Nikon 75mm lens included with System-X is essentially a tapered cone lens hood with the diffuser material attached a few inches from the lens.
I have not taken a pic of System-X with lens-mounted diffuser, but here's a pic of System-9 with a diffuser:
As you can see, the diffuser mounts to the front of the lens. The diffuser shown above is intended for raw coins. The light is at too high an angle for slabs, and will cause glare. For slabs, the diameter of the "ring" created by the diffuser material must be larger to avoid glare. As an example, take a look at this post by DarthMorgan on CCF. He bought a System-3 from me, and he uses it for shooting slabbed Dollars. I made a custom diffuser for him that puts the light just outside the radius of the coin to eliminate glare, but still gives maximum light and best luster presentation for his Dollar shots:

If you want me to make a diffuser for your system, I need to know some critical info on the lens you're using, raw or slabbed or both, coin size, etc.

I've sold both the first System-X and also a second one with a couple modifications:
Here's the resulting system. Let me know if you are interested in a system like this, or if you'd like to customize your own!

I have sold a couple more of the System-X stands, and each has been a bit different, custom-tailored for each user. The last one had the biggest changes:
Bellows focus rail instead of arca clamp and rail...allows coarse focusing using focus rail adjustment knob
Larger wood base with rounded front, and black surface treatment
No fine-focus stage...customer had no interest in details shots, so bellows focus rail is sufficient
Diffuser optimized for slabbed Halves
Here's what this custom-tailored system looks like:

Very glad I picked up your #X system from you best money I spent. At least my money no longer goes to waste trying to find the perfect picture. Thank you Ray.
