Silver Thalers

I recently bought a group of coins from an old time collector, not pricey at all, included were these HUGE Thaler coins from the late 1600's. Beautiful design..Byzantine like...but inexpensive. Why is that? Can you educate me on these coins?

Without clear, cropped pictures, it is nearly impossible to provide feedback on your coins. They could be reproductions, or damaged and repaired, or maybe you just got a good deal. No way to tell

If authentic, they aren't inexpensive unless damaged.

    Inexpensive is a relative term

    My advice: trust no one.

Every rip off artist will have a convincing story to tell.

I'm not saying your seller is a crook, just that there are lots of them out there.

Pls do post pics. I am sure I can learn a few things.
