I might have the 1983 D Penny that is worth 15,000?!?! (New to this forum)

After looking through my coin jar, I saw a Penny from 1983 with a D. Upon further research, I realized I might have a chance at 15,000. Now my scale is NOT to the exact hundredths place, but I have a scale. I weighed it. It weighs 3 grams!! I didn’t research to far in to this penny, but I was hoping an expert could tell me if I actually got the penny?
Thanks

    Welcome to the forum @macandcheese.

Need better pics, obverse and reverse... higher definition and closeup.

What research have you done to mention 15,000? I do hope it’s NOT a y-tube video.

You also need a scale with better resolution. A coin with a weight as low as 2.5 gms will still readout as 3 on your scale. And 2.50 is the weight of a normal 1983 cent. Get the correct weight first, then worry about it being valuable

    Ok

I’ll find a more accurate scale and get back to this post

I think a bowl of mac and cheese is probably worth considerably more.

Throw a couple of 1984- date cents on your scale and see if they read 3.
If so, (and I suspect that you have already done this) you have answered your own question.

I believe the "rare one" is dated 1982-D. :)

Are you thinking 1983-D transition copper cent?
