Instead of the '16-D, maybe the familly can get you a nice '47 Roosey to get you started with them!
Or, perhaps a '55 double die cent!
Ya got me by almost 7 months. I know that I'd be happy with a '55 DD or a nice MS68 Monster Rainbow '48 Rossey!
Best Wishes,
Don

In memory of BL, SM, and KG. 16 and forever young, rest in peace.
I sent the 16-D out. Did it not arrive?
Happy B-Day!!
At This Somewhat Advanced Age I Thought Maybe I would be Referred too as "MR Fishheadman" !! Oh well I can Wait Untill 60 for the MR.
One Good thing though. Told the Boss at Work Yesterday that I Was Not working on My 55th Birthday, He Smiled and said I'll See Ya Wednesday. Keith that Means I Will Be watching the Mail Box for the 1916D. It Is MS65FB isn't It ??
Thanks Guys for the Well Wishes. All are Appreciated Deeply.
Ken......
Happy Birthday! Hope we are celebrating your 56th next year...Cheers********

Of course, we welcome younger (and older) collectors to join our ranks. As long as they obey our rules.
Jim
When you are in need of cash for some more 'Depends', let me know and I'll buy some Mercs from ya!
TC
And hope you get your 16-D.Hmmm i may have to dig up some S&P shakers.Never know maybe a Merc.Al
I'll hit the big 55 August 23rd. We must have been in the service about the same time.
Were you in Vietnam? I was there April 67 to April 68. Got to see the "TET" offensive(sp) and everything.
Never had a desire to go back for a visit.
Again, Happy Birthday Ken the "Fairlaneman".
Jon
Your right I had to get something. The Type Set is Started. Pictures Below except the One I bought from Spooly. Thought if I Got on His Good Side He would Refrain from Picking on Merc Collectors. Dreaming There I Think.
Jon:
Yes I got the Pleasure also. May of 1968 to May of 1969. Was stationed at a Beautiful Place in the Mekong Delta called Dong Tam. Was Attached to the Navy in the 9th Division Mobile Riverean Force. Patrolled the Water Ways in the Delta in Those WWII Landing Crafts that had the Fronts Fold Down. Most of the Time it was Cool but sometimes the Crap hit the Fan. Made it Out and Went Stateside but Could Not Take the Spit and Polish so I Went Back to Viet Nam a Second Time. This Time in Da Nang. It was a Breeze Compared to thr First Stint. Spent 15 Months in Da Nang So I Could get a Early Out from the Service. Went Home to My Government Job and Guess What !! They needed Advisors in the Property Disposal effort that was Going On at that Time. Back to Viet Nam Again as a Civilian. Six Months this Time with Great Pay for the Period. All in All a Character Building Experience. Can't say Everyone Should Have To Do It Though.
Ken
Is their any other kind of mercury collector? Vision has to be failing to like those!
In God We Trust.... all others pay in Gold and Silver!
Whoops!!! Checked my records and send that 16-D Merc to Spooly by mistake. Sorry about that. Maybe he'll forward it to you.

I'm just glad you are still with us after spending 2 1/2 years in Nam. I was at Long binh and Siagon. I was at Siagon with a short time to go when TET broke out and the tried to take the airbase with shear numbers. We had to kill a bunch of'em to discourage that.
So, you've started type. Which set are you going to do? What are the grades of the 3 coins above.
LOL Jon
IT WENT TOO SPOOLY ???? All He will use it for is Trying to Catch Cat Fish Down there. Heck Those Coppers are Good Weights to take the Stinky Bait to the Bottom for them. Never will the Wily Cat Fish be Enticed Off the Bottom with the Beautiful Lure. Get It Back and Forward to a Smallmouth Bass Fisherman who can put it to Good Use.
Spooly:
It Does Appear We Could Very Well Be called "The Failing Sight Registry" Had No Idea So Many were about the Same Age. I think the Theory that a Person Collects what was in Circulation During His Child Hood just Might Be True. Hmmm. Lets See Early Coppers from the 1840's and 50's. Probably Still in Circulation untill lets Say 1870. That Makes You about 130 years Old. Hope You are Still well Preserved !!!
Jon:
The First year was a SOB but the Rest was Sort of Fun. If You Can call that God For Saken Place Fun !!! I was in Supply the Second Time Around. Much NCO Club Time was Spent. Its hard to Explain What I did for 15 Months the Second Time as Much Rum was Consumed.
Yea the Grades of the Coins. I was Hoping Someone would Help Me Out on That. I believe that is the First Morgan I have Ever Bought. The Indian is Debatable Grade wise I think. Have had a Few of them. The Buffalo is in a Second Generation Slab that Says MS66. Its a High grade for what I want to do but Shucks Its Pretty.
Ken
Naw. Not Yet.
Ken
I'm confused? Why is MS66 too high for type? Which type set are you doing? And why wait until it's done to enter? I Hope you are doing the full type not that modern thing.
Jon
66 Is Not too high. Just too High for what I am thinking about Putting together. The 66 would Look Out of Place with XF/AU Material. A Few high Grades that are Easy would be All Right I Guess.
Ken
i've got one coming up shortly but i'm not quite as, shall we sayexperienced as you. here in ohio when you turn 55 they send you a GOLDEN BUCKEYE card!!!!! that sure is encouraging!!

Happy birthday and congratulations in reaching the common "speed limit" age.
As a gift, I take back my opinion of my grade guess on your 1881 Morgan and re-submit that it is a MS68 DMPL ... happy birthday again ...
Chris
P.S. Forgot to say that my re-submission grade opinion is from an ACG perspective
I love Ike dollars and all other dollar series !!!
I also love Major Circulation Strike Type Sets, clad Washingtons ('65 to '98) and key date coins !!!!!
If ignorance is bliss, shouldn't we have more happy people ??
