Growing up a Braves fan, I remember always being amazed at the way Chipper Jones was able to switch hit. I used to attempt to switch hit in my backyard all the time, but it ended in disaster. One day the bat flew out of my hand and smashed into my neighbor's birdfeeder they had hanging in a tree in their backyard. It took me two weeks of killing flies to pay it off. ( A lot of flies used to get into our house in the summer, and my parents would pay me to kill them. The fee I charged was 25 cents a fly.) I have always been fascinated by switch hitters.
