newp: 1746 Bamberg Sede Vacante issue

Wonderful design on this one; the edge lettering was a neat bonus. Lines at 4:00 and 8:00 on obverse and near back hoof on reverse appear to be flow lines under magnification. Designed by PP Werner. Classified as Zepernick 65, Slg Erlanger 2415, Heller 363. 38.5 mm. Obv: St. George riding with the sword to the left and fighting with the dragon.
Rev: Emperor Heinrich II. Riding to the right, next to the Cathedral of Bamberg, above two angels with the chapter coat of arms.

Magnificent. I have been thinking of doing something with Bishopric states to complement my sample collection of 17th century German secular state coins. Pushing my buttons.

I like the pistols.
Just awesome high relief piece - what a wonderful addition!
@harasha: Love it. The bishopric theme has some incredible designs. I hope you share what you find.
@topstuf - good eye! I missed both of them. Good to have as backup when you are poking a large dragon with a sharp stick.
I just received notification ATS; it was a quick turnaround on this one. Happy with the results (MS-63).
