Mexico 50 Pesos 1943

Hi,

I've recently bought my first 50 gold Pesos. I would like to ask for your opinion about
a grade of this particular piece. Also, does anyone know why the 1943 has no denomination,
but doubled weight description? I've come across a few different explanation - ranging from the coin being
ment as a bullion to it being a some sort of medal - but neither of them convince me.

Thanks,

Redfox

Looks like a 62 to me.

Somewhere I read the story behind the 1943 issue. I’ll have to look for it. (Maybe Buttrey/Hubbard?)

It's a pretty strong coin but the face, right breast and right arm have a lot of hits:

If I had it in hand, I would also like to look close at the rims.

Still, a honkin' big piece of gold!

I love these coins, still haven't found the right one for my Mexico set but some day!

    Grats on your pickup.
