Just an observation... ASE's are but one aspect of the overall market. If the first day of the Baltimore show told me anything, it told me that there were a fair number of late 20's early 30-somethings wandering the aisles and essentially looking for the same coins I'm looking for... in addition to ASE's, gold, etc, etc...
Collecting: Dansco 7070; Middle Date Large Cents (VF-AU); Box of 20;

3 months after the internet craze at insane prices you can get it for cheaper then what the mint sold it for, fwiw hopefully
Not a chance. The price may be lower than the secondary market price is now, but this will never be a $65 coin. If this is a $65 coin, sell everything because coins are dead...
Again......this is not a coin. It's BULLION!!!
Well silver is about $17 an ounce. Hope I can get one for $20....

Trouble is......it is very expensive Bullion! Thing is if you really want one ....... wait a year or so and buy it cheap after all the flippers are done. If you buy now....when the music stops.....you're screwed!

Actually it is a bullion coin. I’m sure there are lots of people who consider some of the varieties you collect as just junk silver. Hard to believe that anyone who collects coins doesn’t see how these would be collectible to some.
People collect what they like, be it modern state quarters or bullion coins. Just because we don’t collect the same thing doesn’t mean they are any less a collector. I know many coin collectors who faithfully buy a silver eagle every year to fill a dansco because it fills a void when the hard to find additions to a core set can take months or years to find.

I'm not saying it is silly to collect them. Just that it is silly to pay big money for the when you can get them much cheaper later. But I agree with you on collecting what you like.

To me, a 1916-D dime is very expensive bullion....and much more common than this coin.

My nominee for "post of the year" - but not in a good way.
It is a $1 coin. It is also made of silver. So it is also bullion. It is also a coin. Your insistence on excluding it from the genre is elitist and off-putting to collectors of the series. [Note: I am not one.] You don't have to like or want to collect it. That doesn't make it uncollectible.
I would never pay a premium for a 1916-D dime. Give me a $100 common date 67 and my coin wipes the floor with 99% of the 1916-D dimes in existence. But I UNDERSTAND why people collect the 1916-D dime.
Do you also not make a distinction between a Proof Set and a Mint Set? Or are they all just pocket change to you?

I agree 1916-D Dime's are expensive, but they are not Bullion made yesterday. And the reason they are expensive is because of demand. Case Closed!

You didn't notice the intense demand for the 2019-S Eagle yesterday?
These , as most releases go; no matter the cost or fiascos that ensue upon their release , will end up in a true collector's hand. And 30,000 will be in the wild until the feeding frenzy ends. It won't make or break the hobbyist, or our business in it.
