Not so common Bahama gold
I saw this coin and thought it common until I noticed the date .
I had never seen this earlier Bahama gold coin .

Looks good. I had a 1974 set that I sold for bullion. I think yours is better.
Chunk of gold there; many were mishandled. Nice coin there.
Well, just Love coins, period.
At one time, of course, they were illegal for Americans to own. I assume most of the mintage went elsewhere.
I think mintage is small at 1200

I think you are ahead of the curve. For at least several decades, low mintage gold from all over the world sells for a little over melt. The coins are treated as lumps of gold. I've seen these "bullion" pieces sent to the refiner! I hope after many are melted they will be more appreciated.
Coins as this are one way I suggest folks hold gold. They form a numismatic "collection" probably immune for any bullion confiscation.
How was this coin offered originally? As an unc collector's coin?
Now that's cool.
