German Medal Identification (non-military)

Hi - I recently bought a set of German bank / financial medals. I hoped they were silver but see no markings on them now that I have them in hand.

The 6-medal set is marked "DIE GESCHICHTE des Bayerischen Wappens" which means "THE HISTORY of the Bavarian coat of arms".

The obverse - "Patrona Bavariae" - is common to all of the medals.

The rims are plain - no markings. The reverses each feature a different coat of arms and a year or period.

The medals are each 25mm x 4mm. I don't have a scale to weigh them, but they're hefty.

Any info on these medals would be duly appreciated. When were they made? What's the metal? Etc etc.

TIA.

I tried googling a bit but didn't find much. I found a few others for sae on eBay, but they didn't have any info. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HypoVereinsbank It seems like there are some other metals associated with this bank as well when looking around.

these were exclusively struck for that bank.
Try Jochen pater. he is a German medal expert

or annette Hossfeld. she is also an expert in German medals.

I am sure either one of the two will be able to help you.

That text says struck for the bank by the main mint in Munich.

Based on the toning I wouldn't be surprised if they were silver, especially considering the fancy case.

There have been a lot of bank consolidations in Bavaria so the name(s) might help date them.

Based on the type-style of the text on the packaging I'd guess 1980s or 1990s.

So Google says this is a proof medal set of heraldic symbols, minted as a promo for Hypo bank. Must have been used as a gift or corporate swag. Many sets offered at $99. Peace Roy

Did you contact Hypo-Veriensbank, the successor to Hypo Bank after the merger (Munich)?

You might also try contacting some coin shops in Munich. Being a local issue they have probably seen a ton of them.
