It looks like a cast copy of an ancient Greek coin.

Trying to look like an Ancient Greek coin from Rhodes, possibly not the real deal. Look in Google images.

I've tried to find the portraits can't really find anything. story was her husband was a doctor and an old italian guy in his 70s came in for a checkup(think in the 1980s) and didn't have enough to cover the bill. told him that he used this for trade back home in italy and asked if he would take it for the bill. I''m assuming its worthless or close to was just curious what it was since couldn't find anything similar. maybe a reproduction clay token of some kind?
