Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Always enjoyed Summer all and Madden for football...
Criqui and Trumpy for AFC football in the 80s.
Enberg was terrific, too.

Denny Matthews.
Royals radio announcer since the team started up in 1969.
Why is he so good? All he does is talk about the game, not himself.
That's a mistake many announcers make, but Denny never did.
Hall of Famer BTW.
Jim Nantz. The most peaceful voice in broadcasting. When listening to him broadcast, I often put on my fuzzy bedroom slippers and enjoy a nice cup of hot cocoa.
For SEC football I gotta go with one of my bar cigar buddies, Brad Nessler.
Madden/Cosell tie for me for pro f-ball.
Marv Albert.
For soccer there's this Irishman who is stupid crazy with innuendo jokes and he sounds drunk half the time...him and the guy that does the Spanish announcing with the awesome GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL.

There's a lot of legends in this thread. So many sports memories tied to the guys doing play by play and color commentary. Great thread.
Not the GOAT, but a new guy who deserves a mention........Romo.

He is a much better announcer than he was QB!
Dak will be another Phil Rizzuto.
I haven't given up on Dak yet. He needs the right OC calling plays. Dak has the tools to be a very good if not great QB.
Comments
Ralph Kiner!

Dick Stockton,Lindsey Nelson,Marv Albert,Bob Murphy.
Herb Carneal, who did the Twins games was fantastic. In the 1960's, he teamed with a guy similar to Carey named Halsey Hall.
GREAT radio!
He paired up well with John Candy.

3 martini Caray hands down for baseball.

Cosell was polarizing. I give him vote on NFL and of course boxing.
Harry Doyle?

If he gets into the HOF, he'll have a hard time figuring out which dress to wear.
They told him not to get his panties in a wad and he said “darn”.
From Ringworld:
Michael Buffer
Larry Merchant
Mean Gene
Tony Schiavone
Jim Ross
Rowdy Roddy Piper was an event.....
Or which toupee, as he wears a hairpiece.
I was thinking the same!
He is a much better announcer than he was QB!
Keith Jackson
IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED
