Has driven me crazy for years... does anyone have a clue regarding this token?
I have had this kicking around in my odds & ends box for years. Every few months I try researching to find out anything I can - but to no avail! It is the size of a quarter, but thinner. Appears bronze or brass-like with the star, numbers and initials "WLP" looking hand-stamped. There is no reeding on the outer edge, but perimeter of both sides has what looks like machine milling. The darn thing may just be a one-off "love token" , but I would appreciate any observations!

My first thought is the planchet started as blank with the edge design. The stars were second. The three letters were added with some care as they are equally positioned. Mercantile tokens are a huge universe of the fanciful minds of men. Good luck. Peace Roy

Looks like a generic token which was customized by someone. The answer is only limited by your imagination.
10 cents?
10 gallons?
10 pounds?
10 bushels?

Tried using various image searches and nothing. The closest, of all things, was the golden tokens in Super Mario Bros because of the star on the token.
Thanks for taking the time with image searches - much appreciated! I feel pretty sure the token pre-dates Mario
